There's just something about the simplicity of box cameras. You open it up and wonder to yourself "there's got to be parts
missing", but no, it's all there! You just load the film and start clicking away. Some precautions are in need though.
There's no focusing so you have to be aware of DOF (3m to infinity). There's only one shutter speed (around 1/30) so steady hands are in
order (there are threaded holes for a tripod) and of course good light. There's also a built in yellow filter for b&w use. I inherited this camera from my grandfather, who used it to fill the family photo album in the 50's. My dark room equipment only goes up to 6x6 so I have to settle for contact prints. |
